Shopify B2B API integration and platform bridging

Getting Shopify B2B to talk to the rest of your systems means keeping orders, stock levels and customer records correct on both sides, automatically. That is the integration work we do.

Fixed-scope engagements, delivered by UK-based integration engineers. Documentation and source code handed over on completion.

  • B2B GraphQL objects
  • Company & location model
  • Catalog & price-list sync

What we can connect Shopify B2B to

Shopify B2B (Shopify B2B on Shopify Plus) holds your companies, buyer locations, catalogs, price lists and wholesale orders. Every other system in the business holds a partial copy of the same data. Our role is to make one the source of truth and keep the rest aligned — through the Shopify B2B API, webhooks where they exist, and a bridging layer where the destination platform has no usable interface of its own.

Accounting and finance

Push Shopify B2B orders, refunds and payouts into your ledger as correctly coded invoices, with VAT treatment and nominal codes applied at the point of transfer.

Sage 50 / Sage 200, Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite

ERP and stock control

Hold stock in one place. Levels, cost prices and product data flow out to Shopify B2B; orders and allocations flow back in, with safeguards against overselling.

NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Unleashed, Cin7

Warehouse and fulfilment

Send orders to your 3PL or WMS on payment, and return tracking numbers and fulfilment status to Shopify B2B so the customer is notified automatically.

Mintsoft, Peoplevox, Despatch Cloud, in-house WMS

CRM and marketing

Keep customer records, order history and lifetime value aligned between Shopify B2B and your CRM so that segmentation and service teams work from the same picture.

HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Klaviyo

Couriers and shipping

Generate labels and manifests from Shopify B2B order data, apply service rules by weight and destination, and write tracking back to the order.

Royal Mail, DPD, Evri, DHL, UPS, FedEx

Bespoke and legacy systems

A pricing engine, a manufacturing database, an in-house portal. Where documentation is thin we reverse-engineer the interface and wrap it in something maintainable.

SQL Server, MySQL, SFTP file exchange, SOAP services

Common Shopify B2B integration use cases

Each is a defined, testable data flow rather than an open-ended development project.

01

Order-to-accounts automation

Every paid Shopify B2B order arrives in the accounting system as an invoice with the right tax codes, nominal codes and customer record, including refunds and payment fees.

Outcome: finance close reduced from days to hours, no re-keying.

02

Real-time inventory synchronisation

Stock movements in the ERP or warehouse update Shopify B2B within seconds, with buffer rules for lines sold across multiple channels.

Outcome: overselling and cancellation refunds effectively eliminated.

03

Product and price feed out

Product master data, variants, images, cost and RRP maintained once in the ERP and published to Shopify B2B on a schedule or on change.

Outcome: one place to maintain a catalogue of any size.

04

Fulfilment and tracking round trip

Orders released to the warehouse or 3PL on payment; despatch confirmation, courier and tracking number written back to the Shopify B2B order.

Outcome: fewer where-is-my-order enquiries, accurate customer notifications.

05

B2B and trade pricing

Customer-specific price lists, credit limits and account terms held in the ERP and enforced at the Shopify B2B checkout for logged-in trade accounts.

Outcome: trade orders taken online without a separate quoting process.

06

Multi-store and marketplace consolidation

Several Shopify B2B stores, plus Amazon and eBay, consolidated into a single order and stock pipeline through one bridging layer.

Outcome: one operational view across every sales channel.

How a Shopify B2B API integration is delivered

Four stages, fixed scope agreed before any code is written. Typical delivery for a single-system integration is two to four weeks.

Stage one

Discovery and data mapping

We document the systems involved, the direction of each flow, and every field that must move — including the awkward ones such as tax, discounts and multi-currency.

Output: written integration specification.

Stage two

Fixed scope and estimate

The specification becomes a fixed-price proposal with a delivery schedule and defined acceptance criteria. No time-and-materials open ends.

Output: costed scope for sign-off.

Stage three

Build and testing

Development against a Shopify B2B development or sandbox environment and a sandbox of the destination system, with your own data used for acceptance testing.

Output: tested integration and test evidence.

Stage four

Go-live and handover

Controlled cutover with monitoring in place, followed by handover of code, credentials and documentation, and a period of hypercare support.

Output: live integration, owned by you.

Shopify B2B API bridging when there is no direct connector

The hard part is rarely Shopify B2B itself. It is making sure the system on the other end of the wire — often older, undocumented, or maintained by someone who has since left — still gets what it needs, in the shape it expects.

In practice that means a queue that absorbs traffic spikes, retries failed calls against the Shopify Admin GraphQL API — B2B (companies, catalogs, price lists) rate limits, and a log of every transaction so a disputed record can be traced end to end. When Shopify B2B changes its API, only the bridge needs updating — not every downstream system.

If there is no usable interface at all, the fallback is a flat-file exchange, a direct database connection, or a small REST wrapper we write and host ourselves — whichever fits what is actually there.

Included in every bridge we build

  • Error handling with alerting when a transfer fails
  • Automatic retries that respect the platform API rate limits
  • A transaction log for tracing any individual record
  • Idempotency so a repeated webhook cannot duplicate an order
  • Field-level mapping documentation you can hand to any developer
  • A staging environment that mirrors production

Shopify B2B integration FAQs

A single-direction integration between Shopify B2B and one business system is typically delivered in two to four weeks, including discovery, field-level mapping, build against a sandbox, acceptance testing with your own data and supported go-live. Multi-system programmes are phased.

Other platforms we integrate

Each platform has its own integration guide covering authentication, available endpoints and typical data flows.
